I use the Acutron® Mentor developed by Dr. Darren Starwynn, O.M.D. The Acutron® uses both frequency specific micro-current and color light therapy to boost treatment effectiveness.
Micro-current therapy is an ideal way to bring frequency information into the body. Micro-current has been demonstrated to promote tissue healing after injuries, relieve pain and promote lymphatic drainage. These physiologic effects, combined with the transmission of vibrational information, account for the great effectiveness of this modality.
Color Light Therapy
Color light is the only part of the electro-magnetic energy spectrum that humans can see with our eyes. Each color that we recognize is a visible form of vibrating energy. Each wavelength of light between 400 and 700 nanometers(billionths of a meter) produces a characteristic color.
Each color has well documented healing effects. Some of these include tissue healing acceleration, pain relief, lifting and rejuvenating the face, helping regulate function of internal Organs, hormonal balancing and therapies for reducing depression and anxiety.
Geoffrey Hayes offers Acupuncture in Albuquerque, NM. Moxibustion involves the heating of acupuncture points with smoldering mugwort herb (known as moxa). Moxibustion stimulates circulation, counteracts cold and dampness in the body, and promotes the smooth flow of blood and qi. This safe, non-invasive technique may be used alone, but it is generally used in conjunction with acupuncture treatment.
Cupping is an ancient technique, used in many cultures, in which a special cup is applied to the skin and held in place by suction. The suction draws superficial tissue into the cup, which may either be left in place or moved along the body. Cupping brings fresh blood to the area and helps improve circulation.
Traditional cupping, sometimes referred to as “fire cupping,” uses heat to create a vacuum-like suction inside of glass cups. In modern times, cups that use a small pump to create suction have also been introduced.
The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio® Tex Tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular, neurological and other medical conditions.
Tui na means “pushing grasping,” and is a powerful form of Chinese medical bodywork. Based on the same Oriental medical principles as acupuncture, tui na seeks to improve the flow of qi through the meridian channels. Tui na is particularly effective for conditions involving muscles, tendons and joints, such as structural misalignment, orthopedic problems and sports injuries. It can also be used to treat internal diseases.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that has been in use for more than 90 years. It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery and is used in a number of hospitals, medical clinics, and hospice programs.
